August 2026/27 Defer Entry to School

Please ensure you have completed the online registration process between 5 - 9 January 2026 before completing this deferred entry application. If you have missed the online registration process, please contact Admissions Section on 01475 712850 (option 1) before completing this deferred entry form.

To defer a child's entry to primary school in session 2026-2027, their date of birth must fall on or between 19 August 2021 and 28 February 2022. Once the Defer Entry Application has been completed and processed, a deferred year to school will automatically be granted and you will receive formal notification of this. All defer entry applications must be submitted by 1 February 2026.

Children who have their 5th birthday between 1 March 2026 - 18 August 2026 must start school and are not eligible for a deferred year to primary school.

For the deferred year, the current Early Learning and Childcare provider and model will continue. If you wish to change provider or model, you will need to contact your current Early Learning and Childcare provider, to complete a transfer form and this must be submitted by 1st February. Notification of any changes will be confirmed in late March.
